POSITION:
The spa lies in the northwestern part of the Apuseni Mountains, in the Cris Plain, among the western ranges of the Padurea Craiului Mountains. The village, crossed by the Hidisel spring, is limited on the south side by the Cordau and on the west side by the Apateu Mountains. The Baile Felix spa lies 9 km away from Oradea and 22 km away from the country border (Bors).
NATURAL CURE POSSIBILITIES:
thermal sources, with temperatures between 41- 49 C and a total mineralization of ca. 1g/l; from the chemical standpoint, it’s about oligomineral waters, that contains bicarbonate, sulphates, calcium, sodium and silicon; curative mud, that is used for wrappings and baths; the bioclimate is proven to have protective caracteristics and possesses a slightly stimulating effect.
CURATIVE NOTICE:
inflammatory rheumatism (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, sequence damage after acute joint rheumatism); degenerative rheumatism (spondylose of the neck, breast and loin spinal column, also accompanied by cervico-brachial-schialgy, lumbar-schialical syndrome, arthrosis, polyarthrosis); extraarticular rheumatism (tendinosis, tendomyositis, periarthritis humeroscapularis etc); posttraumatic diseases (posttraumatic jointstiffness, sequel appearances after surgical intervention at bone, muscles and joints, fracture, results of distortion, luxation); diseases of the central and peripheral nerve system (hemiparesis earliest 6 months after the beginning of the disease, paraparesis after the passing of at least 3 months from the myelitic process, after bone marrow surgery, after traumatic vertebrate damage, different types of paresis and paralysis); gynaecological diseases (chronic abdomen inflammations, slight disturbances in the puberty age or climatic criterion); seccundary effects (endocrine and metabolism interferences, illnesses of the nourishment).
CURE ARRANGEMENTS:
Thermal baths in basins. There are given possibilities of subaquatic movements and stretch treatments; arrangements for warm mud uses; arrangements for gynaecological treatments with thermal water and warm mud; cure of mineral water drinking; arrangements for electro and hydrotherapy; arrangements for inhalation (aerosol therapy); thermal-swimming baths in free air, some of which remain open all year long; halls for physical therapy; curative massage; sauna; rooms for treatments with Gerovital, Boicil forte, Pellamar and Ulcosilvanil.
In order to prevent rheumatic, respiratory tract or heartcirculation diseases, an active prophylactic bath cure can be made in the spa under medical supervision. The spa has numerous curative treatment provisions, that are connected to the lodging sites. For the overnight guests there are available numerous hotels and recovery homes. In the spa, there are modern cure hotels with characteristic treatment provisions; to the luxury category belongs the "International" Hotel (ex "Belvedere") (with 400 places); lodging conditions of the 1. degree of comfort offer the hotels "Termal" (300 places), "Lotus" (400 places), "Nufarul" (150 places), "Felix" (300 places), "Poienita" (300 places), "Crisana" (200 places), "Somes" (359 places), "Unirea" (300 places), "Mures" (650 Places).
LEISURE TIME POSSIBILITIES:
In the spa there are available: a modern house of culture (theatre, films, concerts, presentations, library, etc.), a hall with game vending machines, sports fields, covered and uncovered swimming pools, that are alimentated with thermal water (some with all-year cure activity), clubs, libraries and theatre halls. In the summer some species of water lilies stemming out of tropical countries, that harbour the warm water lakes of the cure park, offer in Baile Felix an attractive view. In the vicinity of the curative bath there is a forest with interesting plant species characteristic to this area, that offers itself to the cure guests as a comfortable recovery site. At a distance of only 2 km lies the 1 May spa, a nature protectorate at the Peta spring. Here grows the lily (Nymphaea Lothus Thermalis), a relic out of the tertiary time. From the sights of the city Oradea we mention: the museum complex of the Bihor district, with four departments: history, art, ethnography and nature, that is hosted in a baroque building erected around the 17th century, the remnants of the medieval fort Oradea, the commemorative house losif Vulcan, the commemorative house Ady Endre, the palace and the arcade "Vulturul negru", a building complex that belongs to the secession style, the state theatre, the monument of the Romanian soldier etc. From Baile Felix can be organised interesting and instructive excursions to the Neziad and Ursilor Caves, to the bath spas and air spas Tinca or Stina de Vale, as well as to the cities Arad, Timisoara, Cluj Napoca, Satu Mare etc.
