Itinerary

DAY 1: GERMANY - SIBIU

Arrival at Sibiu Airport. Reception by the Romanian tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Short evening stroll in Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture 2007. Festive dinner with wine tasting in the Restaurant “Crama Sibiana”.
 
DAY 2: SIBIU - SIGHISOARA
Morning city tour in Sibiu with a visit to the Great and Small ring, the Bridge of Lies and the Protestant church from the old town. Then continue to Medias and visit the Protestant Margaret Church from the old town. Then continue to Biertan. Visit of the mighty Saxon fortified church. Until the end of the 19th century there was Seat of the evangelical bishops from Transylvania. Then drive to Sighisoara. Festive dinner in the Restaurant. “Dracula”.
 
DAY 3: SIGHISOARA - BISTRITA 
In the morning, city tour in Sighisoara  with a visit to the clock tower, the house where Dracula was born and the Church on the Hill. Then continue to Targu Mures. Short stop to visit the Orthodox Cathedral (one of the largest in Romania) and to see the Town Hall building and the Palace of Culture. Then continue via Reghin to Bistrita.
 
DAY 4: BISTRITA - GURA HUMORULUI 
In the morning, short walk in the small old town of Bistrita and visit to the Protestant church. Then drive on over the Eastern Carpathians, over the Tihuta Pass, in the northern part of Moldova - the Bucovina. On the way, stop at the Dracula Castle Hotel.
 
DAY 5: MONASTERY TOUR
In the morning, visit the Moldovita Monastery, world-famous for its exterior wall paintings. Then continue over the Obcina mountain to the Sucevita monastery. Here you can see a different style of painting. In the afternoon, visit to the Voronet Monastery, also known as the “Sistine Chapel” of Romania. Here you can see a very nice depiction of the “Last Judgment”.
 
DAY 6: GURA HUMORULUI - BRASOV 
In the morning drive through the Bicaz gorge and past the Red Lake back to Transylvania. Afternoon tour of Bran Castle, also known as Dracula Castle. In the evening, festive dinner in the Restaurant. “Sura Dacilor” from Poiana Brasov.
 
DAY 7: BRASOV - BUCHAREST
In the morning, city tour in Brasov  with a visit to the Black Church, City Hall Square and the small, hidden  Orthodox Church from the old town. Then continue south to Bucharest. City tour with a visit to the Revolution Square and the Patriarchal Church (seat of the Orthodox head from Romania). There will also be a photo stop in front of the imposing Parliament building (second largest building in the world after the Pentagon). Festive dinner with folklore program in the Restaurant “Pescarus”.
 
DAY 8: BUCHAREST - FRANKFURT 
In the morning visit to the Village Museum. Then transfer to the airport, farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home.
