HISTORY AND CULTURE IN TRANSYLVANIA

Arrival at Bucharest-Otopeni Airport. Reception by the Romanian guide and continuation to Predeal.

 

In the morning drive through the mountains to Bran Castle, also called “ Dracula Castle “. Then by minibus to Brasov to visit the largest city in Transylvania . As sights you can see the Black Church, the largest Gothic sacred building from Eastern Europe, the old town hall, as well as the hidden Orthodox church from the old town. Afternoon arrival in Sibiu

 

In the morning drive to the west. First stop in the village of Cristian, where you can see the fortified church from the 15th century. Then continue by bike to Orlat to visit the palace and garden of Samuel von Bruckenthal. In the afternoon arrival in Sibiel to see the famous glass icon museum. Afterwards dinner at the mountain farmers in Sibiel. 

 

In the morning drive to the northeast to Agnita. There are numerous villages along the way, whose fortified churches were built in the 15th and 16th centuries. The beautiful landscape makes a very good impression on every guest who drives through this idyllic area. In the afternoon drive to Medias via Alma and Mosna.

 

In the morning drive on the right bank of the great Kokel via Dirlos to Atel . Here you can get to know a beautiful landscape with very hospitable people. At lunchtime you arrive in Biertan, where the largest fortified church from Transylvania is located. Afterwards the guests are invited to a wine tasting in the wine cellar of the village. In the late afternoon you drive back on the left bank of the Kokel to Medias.

 

Today we plan an impressive experience for the guests. It is the journey to the south. This trip goes through numerous villages from the highlands of Transylvania. On the way you can see the fortified churches of Axente Sever  and Motis , as well as the old fortresses of Slimnic and Seica Mare. Arrived in Sibiu  in the late afternoon, you can still take time for a city tour. In the evening there is dinner in a typical Romanian restaurant  "Butoiul de aur".

 

In the morning you drive through the Olt Valley, through the Red Tower Pass. On the way you can see the Cozia Monastery, the oldest Orthodox monastery complex in Romania, which was built in the 14th century. Then continue by bike to Curtea de Arges, the old capital of the country. Here you can visit the monastery rebuilt in the Moorish style in the last century. Arrival in Pitesti in the late afternoon.

 

After a short trip by minibus to Bucharest, you start a beautiful city tour in the capital of the country. The Patriarchal Church, the Village Museum and the Palace of the Parliament are visited. At lunchtime transfer to the airport, farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home
