Day 1 Homeland - Bucharest - Predeal

Arrival at Otopeni/Bucharest airport, where you will be met by your guide.

Bucharest is the cultural and economic center of the country and the best starting point for a visit to Romania. In the 1930s, Bucharest was called “Little Paris” due to its wide boulevards and tree-lined streets. You will see the Arc de Triomphe, the Royal Palace and Revolution Square. Short photo stop in front of the second largest building in the world. Drive to Predeal.

Day 2 Predeal - Fagaras - Avrig - Sibiu - Medias

In the morning, drive to Fagaras, where you can admire the old fortress. Then continue to Avrig with a visit to the Protestant church and an outside tour of Brukenthal Castle.

In the afternoon you arrive in Sibiu, European Capital of Culture 2007, where you will see the Great and Small Ring, the Bridge of Lies and the Protestant Cathedral.

Day 3 Free Time at disposal

Optional: Medias - Biertan - Sighisoara - Medias

You can use the free time to relax, or you can dedicate a day to the culture of the Saxon population in Transylvania by taking part in an optional excursion to discover beautiful fortifications. You can visit the mountain church, the birthplace of Dracula, the church of the former monastery of St. Mary and the clock tower. In the afternoon, drive to Biertan, where you will visit the largest of the churches. Until the 19th century, this was also the residence of the Protestant bishops of Transylvania.

Day 4 Medias - Boian - Seuca - Medias

Today you will explore the village of Bazna. You will travel by horse-drawn carriage to the fortified churches of Bazna and Boian. In the afternoon, an organ concert awaits you in the fortified church of Bazna, followed by a drive to Seuca, where you will taste the best wines from Tarnave in the winery.

Day 5 Medias - Targu Mures - Gheorgheni - Red Lake

In the morning, drive to Târgu Mureș, the largest city in the Szeklerland. Then continue to Red Lake. Red Lake near the Bicaz Pass was created in 1838 by a landslide that dammed the river. An entire forest slope slid into the water, and today tree trunks still stick out of the water. A beautiful view and pure mountain air will delight you.

Day 6 Red Lake - Gheorgheni - Miercurea Ciuc - Prejmer - Predeal

We continue our journey through the Szeklerland to Miercurea Ciuc, where you can admire the Miko Fortress (exterior visit). This fortress is the oldest monument in the city and the best preserved Renaissance building from the Szekler period. The fortress houses the Ciuc Szekler Museum. On the way, you will visit the pilgrimage church in Sumuleu Ciuc and the fortified church in Prejmer.

Day 7 Free time at your disposal                    

Optional: Predeal - Harman - Brasov - Bran - Predeal

You can use the free time to relax, or you can spend a day exploring the Teutonic Citadel (entrance fees included).

In the morning we drive to Hărman to visit the fortified church. The fortified church was the seat of the Swedish King Charles for over a year in the 17th century. We also travel to Brașov, a town in south-eastern Transylvania. It was founded in the 13th century by the Knights of the Teutonic Order and was the economic and intellectual center of the Transylvanian Saxons for centuries. During a tour of the town, you will discover the most important sights: the Black Church with its Buchholz organ, the Town Hall Square, the unique Schnurstrasse and the hidden small Orthodox church in the center. Another mysterious highlight of this trip awaits you with Bran Castle. The medieval complex, known as Dracula Castle, towers over Wallachia and is reminiscent of the famous castle from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.

Day 8 Predeal - Bucharest - Homeland

Return to Bucharest in the morning. Then transfer to the airport, farewell to the tour guide and return flight home.
