
Day 1 Thu. Homeland – Bucharest
Arrival at the Bucharest airport where you will be welcomed by the guide who will accompany you along the tour followed by transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bucharest.
Day 2 Fri. Bucharest – Sinaia – Predeal
In the morning drive to Sinaia and visit the Peles Castle (exterior visit), the summer residence of the royal family. In 1866, the first king of the Hohenzollern family came to Romania and decided to build a castle in Sinaia on the banks of the Peles river, in the German Renaissance style, so that it would remind him of his home country. Not far away you can find the Sinaia monastery, built by orthodox monks who came from the Sinai Peninsula. Afterward, drive to the hotel.
Day 3 Sat. Predeal – Prejmer – Harman – Rasnov – Bran – Predeal
In the morning you will see two important fortified churches, Prejmer and Harman. In addition to the religious practice, they were used by the residents as a retreat and defense construction. You will further visit the Rasnov citadel, where the medieval atmosphere is even nowadays present. Significant for the farmers, the fortress encloses many houses, stables, and a small church.
Afterward, drive to Bran (Dracula Castle). The castle was built in the 14th century and served the inhabitants of nearby Brasov as a defense system against the Ottomans. The romantically situated castle was during the interwar period the residence of the Romanian Queen Maria. Driving back to Predeal.
Day 4 Sun. Predeal – Sibiu – Predeal
Day trip to Sibiu. Sibiu is known as a city of culture, shaped by the centuries-old traditions of different peoples, one of the main reasons for being appointed as European Capital of Culture in 2007. Most of the buildings, squares, towers, and bastions of the city are testimony to a history that dates back eight and a half centuries when German settlers founded the town. You will get to know the Big and Small Rings, with various markets and craft houses, the Brukenthal Palace, the Catholic Cathedral, and the Evangelical Cathedral.
Day 5 Mon. Predeal – Brasov – Predeal
Day trip to Brasov. The city was founded in the 13th century by the Knights of the Teutonic Order and for centuries it was an economic and intellectual center of the Saxons, who represented most of the population until the 19th century. The most interesting sights are the Black Church (exterior visit) famous for its pipe organ, the medieval city wall around the historical old town with stylish late medieval houses, the town hall square, the unique Rope Street, the citadel gate, and the small, hidden Orthodox church from the center.
Day 6 Tue. Predeal – Sighisoara – Predeal
Day trip to Sighisoara. Sighisoara has the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval buildings in the Gothic-Renaissance and Baroque styles from this part of Europe. The high density of the architectural monuments, the public buildings, the fortified walls, the towers, and the dwellings give the citadel the view of a unique, well-arranged building complex of invaluable historical value. The Church upon the Hill, Dracula's birthplace, and the former monastery church can be visited here.
Day 7 Wed. Predeal – Bucharest
Drive to Bucharest. Bucharest is characterized by diverse architecture with a colorful mixture of styles. Besides palaces, there are villas built in the New–Romanian Brâncoveanu architectural style of the beginning of the 20th century. Route: The Arch of Triumph, Victoriei street with Enescu Museum, former National Theater, Atheneum, Royal Castle, Kretzulescu Church, Parliament Palace (photo stop), Patriarchal Church, Military Academy, Cismigiu Park. You will visit the Patriarchal church and the Village Museum. In the old city center, you can also see the Old Princely Court of Vlad the Impaler. Festive dinner with folklore program at the "Hanul lui Manuc" restaurant.
Day 8 Thu. Bucharest – Homeland
