THE BLACK SEA AND BUCHAREST

Reception by the Romanian tour guide at Bucharest Otopeni airport and transfer to the hotel.

 

This day is free for a stroll through town or for sunbathing and swimming.

 

Travel by bus to Constanta, the largest port on the Black Sea. The city was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. During the city tour, the archeological museum and the Roman mosaic will be visited. During a stroll you can see the  Turkish mosque,  the  Orthodox Peter and Paul Church  and the casino. The aquarium is also nearby ,  with numerous Black Sea fish species. In the first hours of the afternoon return to the hotel in Mamaia.

 

Travel by bus to Tulcea and then by boat to the Danube Delta, on the main Sulina canal to the canal of mile 36 and then, through the old Danube, to the pelican reserve of Lake Fortuna . Lunch on board the ship (included). Return past Lake Nebunu to Tulcea and take the bus back to Mamaia.

 

In the morning drive south through the seaside resorts north of Mangalia: Olimp , Neptune and Jupiter . Visit to the Arabian stud farm north of Mangalia, with the most beautiful thoroughbred Arabs in Europe. Afterwards city tour in Mangalia with a visit to the old port and the mosque founded by Sultan Murat II. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

 

The morning is at leisure. In the afternoon drive to Murfatlar , the largest wine-growing region in Romania. Tour of the wine cellars, wine tasting and folklore program. Return to the hotel in the evening.

 

Drive towards Bucharest , the capital of Romania, via Cernavoda and Fetesti over the Danube to Wallachia . City tour in Bucharest with a visit to the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon), the Patriarchal Church (seat of the Orthodox head from Romania) and the Village Museum . Festive dinner with folklore program in the “Pescarus” restaurant.

 

Free time in the morning. In the afternoon transfer to Bucharest Airport - Otopeni. Farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home to Germany.
