Germany - Bucharest - Medias (3) - (day trips: surroundings of Medias, fortified churches in the Kokeltal ) - Agnita (1) - Sighisoara (1) - Predeal (1) - Bucharest - flight home.
Itinerary
DAY 1: FRANKFURT - BUCHAREST - MEDIAS
Arrival at Bucharest-Otopeni airport, reception by the Romanian tour guide and drive towards Transylvania. On the way, a short stop at the Cozia monastery (14th century), which is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in Romania.
DAY 2: AROUND MEDIAS
In the morning you cycle in the direction of Dirlos to visit the Saxon fortified church. In the afternoon drive into the side valley of the Kokel in the direction of Curci. There you can also see a fortified church from the 14th century. Back to Medias in the evening.
DAY 3: AROUND MEDIAS (22 KM)
In the morning you briefly visit the fortified church of Buzd, then drive uphill to the Kokeltal to see the fortresses of Atel and Dupus . Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Medias.
DAY 4: AROUND MEDIAS (17 KM)
In the morning we visit the largest fortified church in Transylvania. Biertan was the seat of the evangelical bishops in Transylvania in the Middle Ages. During the drive to the fortified church of Richis, a short stop is made at the wine cellar of Biertan. Here you can get to know the wines of the Kokel Valley. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Medias.
DAY 5: MEDIAS - AGNITA (32 KM)
The journey continues south-east today. One visits the Saxon villages Mosna , Pelisor and Birghis. All of the fortified churches in these places are still quite well preserved. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Agnita.
DAY 6: AGNITA - SIGHISOARA (39 KM)
Just to visit Sighisoara and the trip is worth it. You drive through the villages of Iacobeni , Brateni and Apold . Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Sighisoara.
DAY 7: SIGHISOARA - PREDEAL
In the morning drive to the Saxon fortified churches of Laslea, Rondola and Noul Sasesc
Then by minibus in the direction of Predeal.
DAY 8: PREDEAL - BUCHAREST - FRANKFURT
In the morning drive towards the capital of Romania. City tour in Bucharest with a visit to the Patriarchal Church, the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building in the world after the Pentagon), as well as the Village Museum. At noon transfer to the airport and flight home.
