Itinerary

DAY 1: FRANKFURT - BUCHAREST - CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC

Arrival at the Bucharest-Otopeni airport. Reception by the Romanian tour guide and city tour in Bucharest. Dinner at the Restaurant  “Carul cu Bere” (historical monument). Departure by night train (sleeping car) to Campulung Moldovenesc.
 
DAY 2: CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC - MOLDOVITA (22 KM)
Arrival in the morning in Campulung Moldovenesc. Transfer to Hotel Zimbrul for breakfast. Departure by bicycles, accompanied by minibus and trailer, towards the Moldovita Monastery. It is the first of the five monasteries that are world-famous for their exterior wall paintings. Here the guests are received by Sister Tatijana and introduced into the world of the Orthodox faith.
 
DAY 3: MOLDOVITA - SUCEVITA (28 KM)
Today is the most beautiful day in terms of the landscape. By crossing the Obcina mountain you arrive in a completely different world. In the afternoon the second monastery (Sucevita) is visited. The exterior wall painting is a picture book of the Bible and Romanian history.
 
DAY 4: SUCEVITA - MARGINEA - ARBORE (22 KKM)
During the morning we will visit the ceramic center Marginea, known all over the world for its black ceramics. In the afternoon you arrive at the church of the village of Arbore. The church is now a museum and you can still see the strong anti-Ottoman expression of the exterior wall painting from the 16th century. Overnight in a tent camp or at the farmers' home.
 
DAY 5: ARBORE - SOLCA - CACICA - HUMOR (27 KKM)
In the morning you find yourself in the small town of Solca, which is a center of the Romanian brewery. If desired, you can cycle 4 km east to visit the salt mine of Cacica. The only Roman Catholic church that is built directly in the mine is located here. In the afternoon you arrive at the Humor Monastery. The Humor Monastery is the fourth of the five monasteries that have received the golden apple from UNESCO for their exterior wall paintings. Overnight in a monastery, in the Humor Motel or in a tent camp.
 
DAY 6: HUMOR - CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC (36 KM)
Although most of today's route is on the main road, you can use the minibus to get to Campulung Moldovenesc faster. Here you will visit the wood museum in the afternoon and then take part in a folklore evening.
 
DAY 7: CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC (18 KM)
If you wish, you can cycle to Pojorita or Lucina today, accompanied by a minibus. The first goal is a Zipzer settlement from the 18th century and the second one, a Hutus stud farm. In the evening, after refreshment and dinner at the Hotel Zimbrul, you drive to the station to take the night train (sleeping car) to Bucharest.
 
DAY 8: CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC - BUCHAREST - FRANKFURT
Arrival in Bucharest in the morning. Transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Then visit the Village Museum and free time. Lunch and transfer to Bucharest-Otopeni Airport for the flight home.
