TRANSYLVANIA AND WALLACHIA

Arrival at Bucharest Airport - Otopeni. Reception by the Romanian guide and drive towards the capital of Romania. Short city tour in Bucharest with a visit to the Patriarchal Church (seat of the Orthodox head from Romania) and the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon). Then drive via Pitesti and through the Red Tower Pass to Sibiu in Transylvania .

 

morning drive to the Kokeltal and a visit to the Saxon fortified churches, which were built by the German settlers in Transylvania in the 13th and 14th centuries: the church from Axente Sever , the fortified church from Medias and  Biertan , the largest fortified church in Romania. Continue to Sighisoara . Here you can visit the Clock Tower , the house where Dracula was born and the Church on the Hill.. Return to Sibiu and visit the old town, the Great and Small Rings and the Bridge of Lies. Dinner in the mountain village of Sibiel, at home with the mountain farmers.

 

In the morning drive towards Brasov. Visit the Black Church  with its fascinating collection of oriental carpets, the Town Hall Square and the small, hidden Orthodox Church from the old town. Afternoon visit to Bran Castle , also known as Dracula Castle.

 

In the morning drive to Bucharest . Second part of the city tour with a visit to the Palace Square (the center of the 1989 revolution) and the Village Museum . In the afternoon transfer to the airport Bucharest - Otopeni, farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home.
