TRANSYLVANIA ON TWO WHEELS

Arrival at the Romanian airport Bucharest - Otopeni; Reception by the Romanian tour guide and onward journey by minibus via Pitesti to Calimanesti.

 

In the morning drive by minibus to Transylvania to Talmaciu. From here you can only continue by bike to today's destination Sibiel. You leave Talmaciu and you arrive in Cisnadie . The Saxon fortified church is visited here. Then you continue with the bicycles via Cisnadioara , Poplaca and Orlat to Sibiel. In the evening, the group is invited to a typical Romanian dinner with plum brandy and red wine at a peasant family.

 

In the morning after 5 km you reach the main road towards Sibiu. After 11 km you leave the main road and you reach a side road to Ocna Sibiului . Here the health resort is visited, which was very well known in the past. Then continue cycling via Mandra, Loamnes and Haseg to Cenade. You can make short stops in all villages through which you drive to visit the local Saxon fortified churches.

 

Today you cycle via Lunca, Tapu, Copsa Mica  and Tarnava  to Bazna (Baasen), also a well-known spa town from Transylvania. Even today, stops are made in all villages through which one drives to visit the Saxon fortified churches.

 

In the morning you cycle via Boian , Tatarlaua, to Cetatea de Balta, a town in Romania because of the production of Champagne is very well known. In the afternoon one arrives on another cycle path to Boian and then to Bazna. Other beautiful fortified churches  are waiting to be visited today.

 

Today you cycle via Delenii, Bagaciu, Curciu, Darlos, Alma to Dumbraveni . You can see very beautiful and well-known Saxon fortified churches in every village you drive through. But also typical Romanian Orthodox churches.

 

In the morning you cycle to Biertan . Inside the fortified church was the seat of the Protestant bishops from Transylvania until the end of the 19th century. Then continue cycling via Birghis to Agnita. From here you continue by minibus via Fagaras and Brasov  to Timisul de Sus.

 

In the morning drive with the minibus near Bucharest. City tour with a visit to the Patriarchal Church (seat of the Romanian Orthodox head) and the village museum. Then transfer to the airport, farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home.
