Itinerary
DAY 1: FRANKFURT - BUCHAREST - PREDEAL
Arrival at Bucharest- Otopeni airport . Reception by the Romanian tour guide and onward journey into the mountains to Predeal .
2. DAY: PREDEAL - SIGHISOARA
In the morning drive to Bran. Tour of the castle, also known as Dracula Castle . Here you have a first opportunity to make a comparison between history (Wallachian prince Vlad Tepes - the impaler) and fiction. The location of the castle (on a mountain nose) and also the small stream nearby corresponds to the description from Bram Stoker's novel. Here you also have the opportunity to buy various Dracula souvenirs. Continue to Brasov. City tour with a visit to the Black Church (the largest Gothic religious building in Eastern Europe) and the Town Hall Square (where Prince Vlad Tepes staked hundreds of Transylvanian Saxons). In the afternoon visit of the fortified churches from Prejmer and Harman. Late afternoon arrival in Sighisoara. Festive dinner in the restaurant "Dracula". The restaurant is located in the old town of Sighișoara, in the birthplace of Prince Vlad Tepes.
DAY 3: SIGHISOARA - PIATRA FANTANELE
Morning city tour in Sighisoara with a visit to the Clock Tower and the Church on the Hill. Continue to Targu Mures. Short stop at the Protestant church . Then drive via Reghin to Bistrita . Short stop at the Protestant church in the old town. Drive from Bistrita, up to 1200 meters above the Tihuta pass , to the castle hotel Dracula .
DAY 4: PIATRA FANTANELE - SIBIU
In the morning drive back via Reghin and Targu Mures to Medias. Short stop at the Evangelical Church from the old town. Then continue to Sibiu. City tour with a visit to the Great and Small Ring, the Bridge of Lies and the Protestant parish church from the old town, where the son of Vlad Tepes (Mihnea the Evil) was buried. Dinner at home with the mountain farmers in Sibiel .
DAY 5: SIBIU - BUCHAREST - FRANKFURT
In the morning drive along the Olt valley towards Bucharest. On the way, a short stop at Cozia Monastery (one of the oldest monasteries in Romania). This monastery is a foundation of the Wallachian prince Mircea the Elder (grandfather of Vlad Tepes). Arrival in Bucharest at lunchtime. City tour with a visit to the Patriarchal Church (seat of the Orthodox head of Romania) and the Village Museum. Then transfer to the airport, farewell to the Romanian tour guide and flight home .
